Witnessing Clip (Nov. 2010): Cebu City Open-Air Preaching

To all of you who want to see how you can get the attention of people in the outdoors so you can preach the Gospel to them, here's a clip of Dennis Mark Y. Aglosolos preaching at Colon St. (oldest street in the Philippines), Cebu City during GOSPEL BUZZ 2010.

Successful Gospel Buzz 2010

This year's GOSPEL BUZZ at Cebu was a big success! The 5th staging of this evangelistic mission trip happened from Oct. 24 to Oct. 29. God provided every cent we needed and even more. He answered our prayer for less rain during the dates that we were there. And the strength that every member of the team needed was definitely abounding as evidenced by how many Cebuanos got to hear and read the Gospel.

Almost everyone of the 20,000 Gospel tracts that we brought to Cebu were distributed. Even a cab driver that Dennis Mark Aglosolos witnessed to distributed 500 tracts to 500 cab drivers because he was so convicted by the message that emphasized sin, righteousness and judgment that he thought it important to also share the message to others. Hundreds got to hear the Gospel through one-to-one Gospel-sharing and in open-air preaching sessions. A significant number of Christians were also trained in the Way of the Master through the mini-WOTM seminar the team did at Living Word Church, I.T. Park, and several of them were so challenged that they joined the LWA team in the streets.

We can only thank and praise the Lord for what He did in the trip. We can't wait for the next trip. To all of you who prayed and supported the trip financially, "Thank you very much!" Please enjoy this video we made documenting what transpired during Gospel Buzz 2010.

Gospel-Preaching & Bible Distribution

Last October 16, 2010, Living Waters Asia went to Nueva Ecija (about 5 hours drive from Manila), to a very remote place in the province to share the Gospel and to distribute 300 Tagalog Bibles to people who will be hearing the Good News and to Christians who crave for their own copy of God's Word.

Dennis Mark Y. Aglosolos delivered the Gospel message to audience that included local candidates to that month's Barangay Elections. The Bibles were donated by Christians from the US and from Generics Pharmacy, a Christian pharmaceutical company in the Philippines.

This was the second time the LWA team came to Nueva Ecija. The first time was about five years ago when they were part of the evangelism team in a medical mission organized by Buddy and Arleen Valdez. A church was established because of that medical mission. A lot of the recipients of the Bibles are members of that church.

Please pray for our next Bible-Evangelism activity one to two months from now.

LWA Conducts Retreat for NCAP 4th Year Students

Living Waters Asia, for the third year in a row, has facilitated Notre Christi Academy of the Philippines' retreat for it's 4th year students. For LWA, the purpose for conducting this yearly retreat is two-fold. First, to raise funds for it's yearly mission trip, the Gospel Buzz, which takes place at Cebu City this year. Second but the most important, is to deliver the Gospel message as clearly as possible to the graduating High School students of NCAP. We're happy to announce that both purposes were achieved, especially the second one.

The students heard the preaching of sin, righteousness and judgment several times during the 3-day event (Aug. 31-Sept.2). The morning devotionals talked about this important topic, as well as the lectures conducted by Dennis Mark Aglosolos, Arvin Cunanan and Kimphy Desiderio. The team was so encouraged by the feedback they got from the students even if the topics were not really that easy for naturally care-free young people to accept. This showed how the Holy Spirit moved during the event.

Please continue praying for the students that attended the event.

Witnessing Clip (Sept.. 2010):Sharing the Gospel in the mall

We go fishing where the fishes are. The mall is one place where fishes are. Watch this witnessing clip with three young people spending time in the mall. We're sure that this is the most significant time these friends have spent in a mall.

CEBU WOTM Seminar

Our one-day Cebu Way of the Master seminar last Aug. 14 was such a big success, by God's grace. The event that took place at the facilities of Living Word Christian Ministries in Cebu City was attended by Christians, not only from the host church, but likewise from other cities and provinces. There were delegates from Mindanao and Filipinos from Australia. Delegates were exposed to the errors of the modern gospel message as well as to the biblical basis of a message that preaches sin, righteousness and judgment. For most of the attendees, this was the first time they heard about using the Law in Gospel preaching.

There were those that testified after the event how the seminar has renewed their commitment to the ministry of evangelism. From the reactions in the faces of several people who attended the event, one can sense the Holy Spirit moving as the topic of True and False Converts was being delivered.

We are so thankful for the people that God used to make this event possible. The following are: Bro. Gabriel Bernedo for his generosity and great Christian hospitality; the leaders and members of Living Word Christian Ministries; Bro. Sean Christie for introducing us to the host church; the people of Fishers For Men in the US as well as other Christians that gave financially to this event. We'll just let the Lord bless you for your part in making our Cebu event such a blessing to many that attended it.

Please watch the short video below to see how God moved during the event.

Witnessing Clip (Aug. 2010): "I don't mind going to hell"

Here's one person that you don't encounter in your one-to-one sessions that often. When everyone in his sane state would want to evade hell, this young man is okay with it because he believes he deserves it (his right with that) even if you have informed him that there's a way out of this scary situation. When asked if he loves himself, he answered that he's really not sure. Watch this clip so that if you encounter someone like him in your evangelism efforts, you will know how to put some sense in the person's mind.

Evangelism during the Presidential Inauguration

What do you expect to abound during the inauguration ceremony of a new president of a country? Of course, PEOPLE! And that’s exactly what field the area where the Quirino Grandstand, in the famed Luneta Park is, on June 30, 2010 (estimated crowd: 500,000), as the Philippines witnessed the inauguration of Benigno Aquino III as the 15th president of the Republic.

And where there are people, for the responsible Christian, there are souls to reach for Christ. That was the reason why a team from Living Waters Asia forgot that the day was supposed to be a holiday, a time to rest, but instead trooped early in the morning to the venue of the inauguration to share the Gospel to people. How easy it was to do fishing when the fishes are all around you waiting to be caught. The team’s supply of Gospel tracts were all distributed in a matter of 30 minutes and so, they used their remaining time talking to people about the only message that can bring them to Heaven.

Think of what we, Christians, can do if all of us would just embrace opportunities like this to deliver the Gospel to people. You can be sure that the next time a big crowd like this turns out in one place, LWA will be there. But we hope to also see you there.

Witnessing Clip (July 2010): Politics as springboard to the Gospel

Last June 30, 2010, LWA was at the inauguration ceremony for the new Philippine president. With thousands of people around to witness this historical event, the LWA team couldn’t resists the temptation of using the event as a springboard for the Gospel. Watch how Jayvee eagerly answered questions about what every Filipino needs to do to help the new president turn our country around (according to him, to be good persons), and how he was caught off-guard when asked if he thinks he is a good person. Enjoy this clip!
